    What is Addiction.

    An addiction is a dependency syndrome where you have a difficulty in stopping or controlling alcohol or other substances. It is a chronic brain disorder but it is treatable. Initially it is pleasurable, but continuous usage becomes compulsive and destructive which interferes with ordinary life responsibilities such as work, relationships and health. Users may not be aware that their behavior is out of control and causing problems for themselves, family and society. This lack of control develops poor self esteem, decreased stress tolerance, decreased efficiency, poor money handling, selfishness, carelessness, ethical break downs, dishonesty, stealing, carelessness towards Family and Work.

    Alcoholism and prolonged substance abuse is PRIMARY, PROGRESSIVE and TERMINAL ILLNESS.

    Process of Treatment.

    Our established treatment agenda for Intervention, Prevention and Management of addiction & associated disorders are guided by a philosophical and psychological mutual concern and responsibility that is based on the Best Standards of Quality of Patient Care, Managed by a team of qualified, experienced and well trained professionals and our Therapeutic recovery programs help alcoholics and aubstance addicts to regain their normal lives and helps them to lead an alcohol and substance free life.

    Pre-Intervention.

    This is the first communication with the Hospital. Based on the patterns of abuse / dependence, guidance regarding admission or outpatient treatment would be given. During this session respective family will be educated about the disease, treatment process and they are shown and explained about the facilities..

    Intake.

    An important and essential session that happens after admission where our psychologist meets the family members to collect information regarding addiction history, physical illness, psychological problems, precipitating factors of addiction, social & occupational issues etc..,

    Emergency Patient Escort Services.

    Our Emergency Rescue team consists of task oriented members, who can skillfully provide support and handle an emergency if needed.

    Medical Management.

    Detoxification, Withdrawal Management, Anti- Craving Medications, Substitution Treatment, Physical, Psychological, alcohol and substances related Psychiatric Disorder Management.

    Detoxification.

    Detoxification Process (Medical Management) helps to pave the way for abstinence. This process normally takes 21 days. It is basically aimed at the acute stage of withdrawal, where the patient is treated medically to bring back patient’s physical health & routines

    Reclamation.

    Reclamation process (Psychological) basically referred to Post Acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS) which makes the patient to realize and modify his behavioral changes / disorders, decreased efficiency, poor money handling, selfishness, carelessness, ethical breakdowns, dishonesty, prolonged time in toilets, stealing, carelessness towards Family and Work those were progressive along with his abuse. The rehabilitation process includes psycho therapy, individual counseling, family counseling, family therapy, group therapy, relaxation therapy, relapse prevention therapy & occupational therapy.

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

    Our Cognitive-behavioral therapy helps Patients in recognizing and understanding the causes of their Addiction and associated problems and helps them to develop skills necessary to overcome them.

    Psycho-social Intervention and Prevention Therapy.

    Our Psychosocial interventions include a broad range of psychological and behavioral strategies either alone or in combination with pharmacotherapy and other medical or other interventions, which help in the Intervention, Prevention and Management of Addiction and Co-related Disorders.

    Motivational Enhancement Therapy.

    Denial, Justification and Blaming is the nature of Addiction. Motivation is key factor for Patients to begin, continue, comply with and succeed in treatment. It involves recognizing a problem, searching for a way to change, and then beginning and sticking with that change strategy. Our Motivational Enhancement Therapy are based on principles of motivational psychology and is carried out by a qualified Clinical Psychologist and Counselor

    Life Style Management.

    Holistic Recovery requires Person Changes in terms of Body, Mind and Soul. Our Life style Management modules are designed in such a way that this change happens while the Patient is undergoing treatment. This involves Yoga, Meditation, Physical Exercise, Spiritual Practices and other healthy recreational activities to fill the void created by using of drugs.

    Counseling.

    Our Individual and Family Counseling Sessions helps in Assessing the Motivation of a patient. Motivating a patient in treatment means encouraging the patient to make behavioral changes, by discussing the disadvantages of continuing substance use, the advantages of stopping substance use, and helping the patient in making the necessary change.
    Individual counseling can be carried out in different situations

    • Over several sessions with a Patient who is in the treatment program
    • In the form of a brief intervention with a person referred for drug-related problems who has not yet entered a treatment program
    • In a situation of crisis.

    Coping Skill Training.

    Our Coping Skill training facilitates patients to develop coping strategy to manage day to day practical difficult life situations without resorting to substance use.

    Relapse Prevention Management.

    The Core of our Relapse Prevention Program involves in anticipating the problems patients are likely to meet, and helping them develop effective coping strategies. We conduct Relapse Prevention Programs for Out-patients as well as Inpatient treatment program.

    This treatment module helps patients in self-monitoring and to recognize drug cravings early on and identifying high-risk situations for use, and developing strategies for coping with and avoiding high-risk situations and the desire to use.

    It helps patients to maintain changes in their substance use behavior, about how to anticipate and cope with the problem of relapse and develop specific techniques of exploring the positive and negative consequences of using.

    Emotional Relapse.

    You are not thinking about using but your behaviors are making you up for a very possible relapse in future. The signs are anxiety, intolerance, anger, defensiveness, mood swings, isolation, not seeking help, avoiding meetings, poor appetite and sleeping patterns.

    Mental Relapse.

    A war inside your mind to use and not to use. In initial phase you are casually think about using, but in later phase you are positively thinking about using. The signs are lying, remembrance of using places, friends, visualize or fantasize about past use and planning for relapse.

    Physical Relapse.

    If you don’t use the techniques to overcome the emotional & mental relapse it will strongly lead to physical.

    Support Groups.

    ALCOHOLIC ANONYMOUS – (Known as AA worldwide) It is a fellowship of Men & Women who share their past experience, their strength, hope in order to solve their common problem and help others to recover from Alcoholism.

    NARCOTIC ANONYMOUS – (Known as NA worldwide) It is a fellowship of Men & Women who share their past experience, their strength, hope in order to solve their common problem and help others to recover from substance abuse (drugs) to stay clean.

    AL ANON – Commonly referred as Family groups. It is a fellowship for Wives / Guardian of Alcoholics who share their past experience, their strength, hope in order to solve their common problems. As they acknowledge it is a family disease and that changed attitudes can support Recovery.

    ALATEEN – Alateen is a part of Al Anon, but made for the teenagers from 12 – 17 year olds as addiction is a family disease. It is not for teenage abusers, but for those who have been affected by someone else abuse. They also meet and share their past experience with an abuser in their lives. They do share, help & support each other and gain knowledge of the disease and sense the benefits of understanding that they are not alone.

    Network Support Services.

    Family, Relatives, Friends and Self Support Group meetings constitute a very vital role for the Ongoing Recovery of a Patient and helps the individual affected by the disease of Addiction to help lead a substance free life, with a balanced life style and Spiritual Recovery. Inpatients are taken to Self Support group meetings, while in treatment and are encouraged in attending these meetings once the patient gets discharged.

    Follow up and Out Patient Services.

    Follow up and Outpatient Services helps in Relapse prevention and is an ongoing process in the Recovery of the Patient. The Physical, Psychological, Emotional, Family, Job and Spiritual state of the Patient are evaluated when the patient comes for follow up.

    This helps in evaluating as how the patient is able to handle urges and helps in the identification of the triggers and the consequences, the patient should be engaged in problem-solving and the methods for relapse prevention.

    After Care and Community awareness programs.

    Treatment helps a Patient in terms of understanding the nature of the Disease of Addiction and Developing Coping Strategies and Skills. We run Services which include After Care Services to handle Long term Substance use and Conduct Awareness Camps and Medical Camps to create and spread awareness of Addiction as a disease and its ramifications to the Individual, Family and Society.
